This volume features a representative selection of papers
presented at the First International ComCon Conference on Advances in Communication
and Control Systems, held in Washington, D.C., 18-20 June, 1987, with the
theme of integrating anew Communication and Control System Theories. It
was organized under the aegis of the ComCon Conference Board and co-sponsored
by the International Federation of Information Processing Societies (IFIP).
Partial financial assistance was provided by grant from NASA Edwards FTC.
The Conference succeeded in bringing together current researchers across
the board in the twin areas of Communication and Control, including relevant
areas of Applied Mathematics and Optimization.
